Be the first to make an unbroken line of five stones in a row — horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

Black plays first; the players alternate placing one stone on any empty intersection of the 15×15 board. Stones are never moved or captured.

If the board fills with no five in a row, the game is a draw. Longer lines of six or more do not count as a win.
