Why play on Rondo
How to play
The goal
Checkmate the opposing general. A general that is left with no legal move while in check loses.
The special pieces
Generals and advisors stay inside the palace; elephants cannot cross the river; the horse is blocked by an adjacent piece; the cannon moves like a chariot but captures only by jumping over exactly one piece. Soldiers gain a sideways move after crossing the river.
Perpetual check
Repeating the same check or chase indefinitely is not allowed — the side that keeps checking must vary or lose.
How it works
- Install Rondo and tap the game. No sign-up.
- An opponent is seated in seconds — a real player or a computer opponent if nobody is around.
- Say hi in the chat room for your language, challenge friends, play by mail when you’re busy.
