How to play
The goal
Sink your opponent's whole fleet before they sink yours.
Placing ships
Each player places ten ships on a 10×10 grid: one of four squares, two of three, three of two and four single-square boats. Ships cannot touch, not even at corners.
Shooting
Players call one square at a time. A hit earns another shot; a miss passes the turn. When every square of a ship is hit it is sunk, and the squares around it are revealed as water.
